With the introduction of 'Onyx,' Orion Labs is making walkie-talkies that permit only two-way communication relics of the past.

This modern walkie-talkie system takes the form of a small wearable clip that can be affixed to an article of clothing for seamless communication. What sets Onyx apart is integration with an iOS and Android app, which makes it possible for individuals and groups to connect with one another from anywhere in the world. Like the classic design of a walkie-talkie, users are able to push the button on Onyx to record a message and in turn, have the recipient play back the recording through the device's built-in speaker system.

Soon, Onyx will be integrated with Amazon's Alexa, meaning that consumers will be able to ask questions in natural language and in turn, be able to learn about everything from the latest news headlines to upcoming weather forecasts.
