'Truth Social,' the online social media site launched by Donald Trump with hopes of becoming a hub of free speech, has announced that it will begin automatic moderation. The parent company behind Truth Social, 'Trump Technology & Media Group' (TMTG) has formed a deal with 'Hive,' a platform that assists in automated detection of content in violation of a specific terms of service.
This TMTG has stated that this move is to make the platform more family-friendly by means of removing harmful, illegal, or offensive content from its platform. The platform wants to become safe for all users, so it will also be enforcing its terms of service site-wide. The terms of service prohibit acts such as nudity, drug use, violence, bullying, etc. This move towards automated enforcement brings Truth Social more in line with other popular social media platforms, as they all use a certain level of automated moderation.
