The fashion designer Sruli Recht, known for his use of unconventional and at times, controversial materials, has developed a new transparent leather with the help of the brand Ecco.
Designers have created transparent leather in the past, but from smaller hides from goats and sheep, and they do not have the soft and supple texture that Sruli Recht and Ecco chose to create. This newly created leather is much softer and as a result, can be manipulated to create garments. The resulting Sruli Recht x Ecco fashion collection features varying colors of raincoats and shoes, all of which are made from the unconventional material.
