The Sidewalk Labs brand is utilizing Google's infinite supply of transportation information in a serviced called Flow that will provide a traffic platform that is able to track roads in real-time across cities. The service will help urban planning create transit that is more responsive to the city's traffic needs based off of the data collected through Sidewalk Labs' street kiosks. The service could potentially revolutionize how traffic is dealt with in a city using data collected from Google's apps.
The Flow system will provide traffic analytics using kiosks located in several major American cities. The kiosks will be put together by Sidewalk Labs and offer Wi-Fi for consumers while simultaneously collecting information about local traffic statuses, noise pollution and air quality. All the data collected will be used in an effort to better the city's transportation.
