Tesla Has Announced 'Track Mode' for Its Model S Plaid Vehicles

The Model S Plaid from Tesla as it stands is already the highest performance sedan on the market, even outside of electric vehicles. The Plaid boasts 1,021 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque, and it's about to get even stronger. The 'Track Mode' feature was originally introduced by Tesla in 2018 for its Model 3 vehicles. Now, the feature is coming to the Plaid.

Track Mode on the Model S Plaid will increase the cooling system of the vehicle around the motors and batteries while also pre-cooling the vehicle so that temperatures remain lower for longer while the vehicle is stress tested. In addition to cooling features, Track Mode ensures even distribution of torque among the tires and allows drivers to customize the performance and handling of their vehicle with up to 20 profiles. Essentially, this mode will improve the performance of the Plaid across the board from increased torque to more crisp handling through customization of the suspension.

With Track Mode enabled, the Tesla Model S Plaid is unlikely to be surpassed as the highest performance sedan for some time.
