Taiwan's TPTEA Serves Sandwiches Filled with Black Tapioca Pearls

TPTEA in Taiwan is putting a unique spin on bubble tea by serving the tapioca pearls that are ordinarily dropped into drinks in sandwiches instead.

The unusual combination pairs a crispy bread pocket with an interior filling of creamy milk tea and chewy tapioca pearls. Unlike when bubble tea is served in plastic takeaway cups, the entire outer package of this unconventional bubble tea treat can be eaten in its entirety. As well as offering a more sustainable way of serving bubble tea without a cup, the sandwich solution also does away with the need for a specialized straw for sucking up the large black tapioca balls in the form of a milky tea-based beverage.
