To Kill a Mockingbird is an award-winning novel about a moral lawyer who is defending a black man in a very racially divided town in the South. The novel will finally be going digital, thanks to the author having a change of mind.
The classic story will be released as an ebook and as a digital audiobook on July 8. That is more than half a century after its initial publication date. Harper Lee is the 88-year-old author behind the iconic novel. She confirmed the details of To Kill a Mockingbird through her publisher, HarperCollins.
Harper Lee says "I am amazed and humbled that Mockingbird has survived this long. This is Mockingbird for a new generation." The decision to shift to digital is exciting for new readers, and it also allows more people the ability to be exposed to the novel.
