The latest work of Cerise Doucède involves tied obsession portraits. What this entails is people literally being tied with the objects that represent their particular addictions and attachments. Appropriately titled Les Attaches, everything from baby toys to family heirlooms and high heels are attached to long pieces of rope that are then wrapped around the person of interest.

Shot in studio against a dark backdrop, the tied obsession portraits might seem slightly comical at first, but they send a serious message about the relationship between people and their material possessions. They appear trapped by the stuff they love the most. Alone and half naked, there is no sense of comfort in the images, which shows just how superficial such things are.
