The 'The Thing' jack-o-lantern is an impressive Halloween project that raises the bar as far as creative pumpkin carving goes. Just carving regular pumpkins is a work-intensive and time-consuming task. Building the The Thing jack-o-lantern must have taken redditor WIZARDTIG quite some time.

The sculpture itself stands at 6'4." It is made from 11 pumpkins that, in true The Thing style, were just smashed to pieces, not carved. Those pieces were placed on a custom wooden frame with the cracks between each piece mimicking the cracks in The Thing's skin. The entire pumpkin statue lights up from the inside. I think I speak for most comic book fans when I say that this is up there with the most cool Halloween projects ever.
