This stunning installation at the London Design Festival uses handcrafted glass lightbulbs and crystalline insects to create a moving musical structure.
The London Design Festival exhibit is the creation of Viennese design duo mischer'traxler in collaboration with champagne label Perrier-Jouet. It is displayed in a limited run at the Norfolk House Music Room at the Victoria & Albert museum. The work features glass replicas of 25 real species of insect. Each one is delicately placed inside a handblown lightbulb and suspended from the ceiling of the exhibition space. The resulting effect is an alternative experience of light and sound.
