Volkswagen has unveiled its first-ever electric car, titled The ID.3. The new vehicle was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and it will be the first in the company's series of electric cars. Volkswagen intends to release a number of electric cars under its MEB title, which stands for modular electric drive matrix.
The company believes that its ID.3 will become more than a concept, as production will be scheduled to allow for 2020 deliveries. The car will have a range of 340 miles. As well fast charging can bring the range to 180 miles in 30 minutes. The ID.3 will start at $33,000 USD, but it will only be available in European markets. The company is also scheduling the production of over 10 million electric cars over the next 10 years.
