The elderly can be found just as adorable as a cheerful infant, a quality that abounds in 'The Granny Alphabet.' This book, which has been published by Thames & Hudson and recently hit the shelves, is chock full of clean and crisp images of grandmother's in all their glory. Whether leaning on a cane or simply hunched over precariously, their kind eyes and white hair would steal anyone's heart.
Put together by famed photographer Tim Walker, 'The Granny Alphabet' is sweetly affectionate. In the forward, he writes that the project can be seen as “part photographic love letter to the elderly and part documentation of the dying breed of little old ladies who live down the lane.” His photos are accompanied by illustrations from Lawrence Mynott.
