Tesla may be dominating the electric car market, but the GAC Enverge may be a tough competitor for the electric vehicle giant. Designed by Chinese automaker GAC, the Enverge is an electric concept car that made its debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. Designed with the urban life in mind, the Enverge is a compact SUV that focuses more on user experience rather than rugged features. The two-door vehicle comes complete with virtual reality screens, gull wing doors, wireless charging and a removable front mounted light.
Under the hood, the vehicle comes with a 71 kWh battery with a range of 370 miles. According to GAC, the Enverge can travel 240 miles on just a single 10 minute charge. GAC has already seen quite a bit of success in the Chinese market, selling just over 500,000 vehicles in 2017, and is currently the fifth largest passenger vehicle producer in China. GAC is hoping the Enverge will be the company's entry point into the electric car market and is currently negotiating with Fiat Chrysler about the distribution of its vehicles in the US.
