The Burning House is a crowdsourced photo series run Robert Holden which asks, "If your house was burning, what would you bring with you?" This simple question seems easy enough to answer, but when you actually take a minute to think of the things that you would grab if you only had a minute, you find that it's not so easy.
The submitted photos come with a brief bio of the photographers, including where they live and what they do. Each item in the photograph is also given a one-sentence description, which is great as I couldn't wrap my head around why anyone would want to save a Beach Boys album or a shuttlecock from a burning building.
You can easily learn a lot about yourself and others by seeing what they would save from their house if it went up in flames. There's a good chance that I will spend most of my day racking my brain as to what I would save.
