The Bide Cabin is located in the English countryside. London-based studio LAMA and Aben, a Nordic design brand, joined forces to build the eco-conscious retreat. The project employed sustainable architectural techniques, including the use of local materials and eco-friendly building methods.
The WikiHouse system was used to design the Bide cabin. A wooden frame was cut by CNC and bolted together by hand to create the cabin's structural elements. The architects opted for sheep's wool and wood fiber insulation to ensure the project remains low in carbon emissions. Sustainability is at the heart of the countryside cabin. However, its eco-conscious design did not sacrifice style; in fact, the cabin is fashioned in a contemporary architectural style and a cozy interior space.
