The Aeon Hotel is a wellness center in South Tyrol, designed by the Network of Architecture, otherwise known as NAO. The NAO created the hotel with a timber-clad exterior. Its jagged facades are connected by a corridor hidden beneath an artificial hill, making for a dynamic structure.
NAO drew on the vernacular barn structures of the site's neighboring guesthouse. The Aeon Hotel is made from local timber, which creates gabled forms that appear broken apart. The building's separating structures reveal balconies and terraces that overlook the Italian countryside, creating small places of respite for guests. The design was inspired by the surrounding landscape. Guests at the wellness hotel experience the landscape flowing through the building, creating unity and harmony.
