Tequila Ocho is Introducing a Premium Barrel Proof Reposado

— August 14, 2025 — Marketing
Tequila Ocho's newly introduced Barrel Proof Reposado expression pushes the boundaries of traditional tequila craftsmanship while maintaining the brand's commitment to terroir-driven production. The spirit is limited to just over 3,000 cases for the U.S. market in 2025.

This new release distinguishes itself through several meticulous production choices. Tequila Ocho used overripe agaves from the Rancho Las Raíces estate. The expression underwent an extended six-month aging period in heavily used American whiskey barrels — this is triple the duration of the brand's standard Reposado. Finally, the expression was bottled at 101 proof without chill filtration.

Master Tequilero Carlos Camarena's approach results in a spirit that delivers both intensity and balance, showcasing bright agave character alongside developed barrel notes of baking spices, dark chocolate, and caramel. The floral and mineral qualities characteristic of Ocho's tequilas are also prevalent.
