Temper Hold is a modular serving system made from basalt, a volcanic stone selected for its high thermal mass to help maintain the temperature of both hot and cold dishes after they reach the table. The collection comprises four components: CORE as the primary serving surface, RISE for elevated food presentation, POUR for controlled sauce service and REST for organizing cutlery between courses. By slowing heat transfer, the basalt surfaces extend the period during which food remains closer to its intended serving temperature.
Each module is CNC-machined from basalt with chamfered edges to improve durability during service. Matte-honed exterior surfaces preserve the stone's natural volcanic texture, while polished food-contact areas create a smoother finish for cleaning. A custom leather sleeve fitted beneath each piece protects tabletops, improves grip during handling and introduces a tactile contrast to the dark stone. The collection is offered with black basalt paired with either brown or black leather.
