Tea-Focused AI Models

Tea Research Association Creates An AI Assistant For Tea Growers

Tea Research Association has built TocklAI, an AI model made for tea growers that turns research into practical field guidance. It helps planters and small growers ask for help on crop decisions, from protecting plants to keeping tea production on track in the field.

The system uses retrieval-augmented generation, meaning it answers from TRA's verified archive instead of general web results. That keeps the advice tied to tested tea science and Indian growing conditions, rather than broad AI guesses or generic guidance.

TRA says the tool draws on more than 2,000 digitised scientific publications from Tocklai Tea Research Institute. With that archive behind it, the model can turn a century-plus of tea knowledge into something growers can query quickly as conditions change and decisions need to be made.
