Virtual Reality Therapies created a VR experience for swimming with dolphins that offers immersion, entertainment and most of all, a solution to keeping animals in captivity. Virtual Reality Therapies combines four hydro pools with virtual reality headsets to offer a unique experience, which encourages people to play with the computerized creatures.
According to Virtual Reality Therapies founder Rebecca Gill, "Our goal is to bring VR therapies to those who would benefit most but are least likely to access it. From supporting children through chemotherapy or physiotherapy to improving social and behavioral difficulties in autism—as well as reducing levels of pain, stress, depression and anxiety."
As venues move towards more ethical models of entertainment, innovative new formats are emerging like fish-free virtual aquariums, cruelty-free circuses with holgraphic animals‚representing the future of entertainment.
