As concern for climate change and the scarcity of resources continues to grow, global brands are beginning to issue sustainability pledges to do their part for the environment, as well as position themselves favorably in consumer consciousness.
Many companies have vowed to reduce the use of plastic, launch recycling programs, and create eco-packaging alternatives for their products. The deadlines for most of these brand sustainability pledges are scheduled to be fulfilled by the year 2025. The latest brand to make a promise for an eco-conscious production model is Levi's. The iconic jean company is focusing on mediating its usage of water based on the resource's availability in the country it operates. The sustainability pledge is expected to reduce it by at least 50%.
