Gigantic Sneaker Installations

The Giant Superga Shoes Break Guinness World Records

Popular Italian shoe brand Superga broke Guiness World records with their giant Superga shoes installation for its Hong Kong retail opening. Created by Japanese SAC design students, Superga challenged itself to create the world's largest sneaker that was both grande in stature but also a symbolic mark.

Made with 25 canvases, 328 wheels of thread, 23 meters of shoelace, tons of wood and rubber, the gigantic Superga shoe is 8-feet by 11-feet and 20-feet long. The design inspiration came from Superga's classic 2750 but was customized with gray and red graffiti designs as an homage to Hong Kong's vibrant street art. A definite attention-grabbing piece, this shoe installation is as detailed as it is striking and the biggest of its kind. One lace loop is the size of a human's head! How cool is that?
