The Stereopublic app was created for folks who want to enjoy the quieter parts of their city. The app lets users find the quietest and most tranquil parts of their city using just their phones. Said spots are crowdsourced from "earwitnesses" who map a quiet location using their smartphone. Users can also include a 30-second audio clip of the area and a photo to let others know exactly what the space looks and sounds like.
In addition to showing a map full of quiet spots, the Stereopublic app also offers tours through quiet areas. The app is both an art and public health project. It encourages people to slow down and escape from being constantly connected.
