Daniel Rybakken's Design for Luceplan Boasts Minimalism

Designer Daniel Rybakken creates Amisol — a statement pendant lamp that is deceptive in appearance. The lighting offering is developed for Italian manufacturer Luceplan. The minimalist fixture is made of a "large sheet of translucent white film or metalized mirror membrane that's been stretched inside its circular frame." While the construction of the statement pendant lamp surely brings an eye-catching embellishment to the interior space, Daniel Rybakken's incredibly strategic approach to the construction is evident in the piece's demand for space.

The stretched circular shape is illuminated by a light source that is extended by two thin rods. Although the sizable appearance of the statement pendant lamp may suggest that Daniel Rybakken's product requires ample space for presentation, the fixture has a very minimal amount of volume and is, thus, quite friendly for compact spaces.
