Dubbed 'Starbucks Drake Hands,' This User's Gesture Went Viral
Sarah Dos Santos — October 11, 2013 — Pop Culture
What was meant to be an attempt at seducing a model via text message turned into a viral Instagram trend called Starbucks Drake Hands. The name was given to the sender of the face-caressing video -- his real name is Brody.
It all began when LA model Piper Kennedy gave her number to a persistent barista at a Starbucks. The model later received a text message from Brody of a selfie where he slowly caresses his face, bathed in sunlight, while Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home" plays softly in the background.
The sweet and now embarrassing gesture ended up on the Internet and became viral when random users started doing the same gesture in ridiculous ways. The parodies are absolutely hilarious!
