In celebration of the newest Star Wars film The Force Awakens, a boeing airplane base in Washington transformed a plane to look like the popular drone from the movies, R2-D2. The base is totally useable and is flying the drone-themed plane to several locations including Vancouver and Tokyo.
The boeing base transformed a 787-9 plane to look like R2-D2 by adding red, black and blue hardware details that are featured on the drone alongside a largescale Star Wars logo. On the flight, passengers selected as part of a fan appreciation program will be served R2-D2-themed napkins, cups, headrest covers and more. The guests will be required to dress in Star Wars cosplay for the trip. The initiative is part of Disney's campaign to market the film for 2015 and 2016.
