Most homes own a standard toaster appliance with a simple rectangular shape and slot for several pieces of bread to cook in, but designer Fraser Leid is attempting to reinvent that traditional aesthetic with the Conique. This futuristic toaster is designed specifically for the modern consumer with a rounded, vacuum-like shape that cooks toast better.

The Conique is different from a conventional toaster in a slew of ways, including the overall shape. The design features a rounded canopy that the toast is slotted into and fully covered in while cooking. The toast is cooked inside ceramic slots that adjust to a precise 35-degree angle to apply heat to the bread. The device is also intuitive keeping the bread warm even if it isn't pulled from the appliance right away.
