Spotify 'Spotlight' Adds Visuals to Podcasts, Audiobooks and News

Spotify 'Spotlight' introduces a new way for people to consume podcasts, news, audiobooks and other kinds of audio content with relevant photos, videos and text. Rather than just being able to listen, users will now be able to see stories unfold in a different way on the platform.

Spotify has announced that it will be launching Spotlight with several partners, including BuzzFeed News, Refinery29 and Crooked Media, as well as its own original series like RISE, Secret Genius, and the Viva Latino podcast. In all, users of the platform will be able to experience the new feature through a wide range of programming, including content that covers pop culture, sports and politics, with more to come.

Spotify Spotlight is currently only available to users in the United States, although the digital music service has plans to introduce it to more markets in the future.
