The Splish dating app takes a novel approach to online dating. Instead of letting you swipe away until you get a match, the app makes you host or play a game to find matches. Users can either join existing games, which have a max of three players, or create their own. Questions come from a variety of categories that include pop culture and deal-breakers (dogs or cats?). After three rounds, a winner is chosen by the game's host and the match is made.

The Splish dating app puts a time limit on each game's question in an effort to encourage slow responders to move things along. Should your connection start to die out when chatting, Splish offers ready-made questions to kick start the conversation. (It's kind of hard to give up on a conversation when someone wants to know your favorite '90s cartoons.) The Splish dating app is available now on iOS as a free download.
