Playful Character-Themed Planes

The Soratobu Pikachu Project Brings an Iconic Pokémon to the Skies

All Nippon Airways, the largest air airline in Japan, launched the Soratobu Pikachu Project which will see graphics of the iconic perky Pokémon cover its newest plane. The Pokémon-themed plane is the latest in a long tradition of All Nippon Airway's planes decked out in Pocket Monster decals. The Soratobu Pikachu Project features a total of ten Pikachus holding balloons with different expressions set along the body of the aircraft. The Pokémon logo can be spotted on the bottom of the vertical stabilizer in the rear.

The Soratobu Pikachu Project adds a dash of playful whimsy to the flying experience. Extending on that experience, a Pikachu peeks out from a window on the bottom of the aircraft as if greeting those below. The Soratobu Pikachu Project serves to increase the brand's recognition and cultural appeal. The plane will fly under All Nippon Airway's cost-effective subsidiary Skymark Airlines.
