Efficient Low-Energy Planes

The 'SolarStratos' Plane Flies Higher and Requires Less Power

The 'SolarStratos' plane has been developed by Raphaël Domjan as a futuristic two-person aircraft that would provide a new approach to flying and eliminate the need for any traditional fuel. Completely solar-powered, the plane features solar panels integrated into the wings developed by SunPower and is capable of drawing energy from the sun as it flies to power the 20 kWh battery pack. The plane is capable of flying at heights of up to 25,000 meters for improved efficiency and doesn't require much power when in operation to further save energy.

The 'SolarStratos' plane identifies what can be done to curb emissions when it comes to aerial transportation and could help to radically change how we think about international travel in the future.
