Educational Snack Packs

Hannaford Snack Pals Teach Children About Healthy Nutrition Habits

Hannaford supermarkets unveiled its educational Snack Pals Plates program earlier this year across all of its stores. The program, which ran until October 31, 2023, offered fresh fruit and veggie snack packs for kids which were priced at two for $5 and prominently displayed in produce sections.

The portable snack packs were specially designed to encourage lifelong healthy eating habits among children, teaching them about nutrition with animated Snack Pals characters. In addition to spotlighting kid-friendly characters, these snack packs also featured nutritional guides, divided into four sections for fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.

Snack Pals Plates purchases also helped raise funds for local hunger relief organizations, with an estimated 100,000 meals distributed to families in both New England and New York. Following their promotion in store, Hannaford has launched its interactive hannafordsnackpals.com website where kids can play educational games, access printable worksheets and sustainable craft activity ideas, and watch educational video content.
