The Smart Windshield concept is an innovative technological concept, developed by the Italian operations of Samsung and Yamaha, that aims to showcase the use of the latest technology to promote and maintain safety among motorcyclists on the road.
The technology makes it possible to take information from the rider's smartphone and display it directly onto the windshield in order to minimize distracted riding. The system uses a transparent screen that is situated just beneath the windshield and above the scooter's instruments and meters. It can wirelessly connect with a smartphone in order to be able to display appropriate information.
Studies have shown that a quarter of Italian youths regularly get distracted by their smartphones while riding. This being the case, there's no question that the Smart Windshield concept could in the long run help save lives.
