These smart vests are turning Thailand's stray dogs into a Bangkok-based neighborhood watch.
Developed by Cheil advertising agency in Thailand, these smart vests are equipping stray dogs with hidden video cameras, effectively protecting the dogs against rampant cases of animal abuse, while making civilians feel safer at night. The dog's bark prompts the cameras to begin recording, sending a live stream of the dog's point of view, to a central location. The agency behind these vests hopes it will help civilians view the stray dogs in a positive light, lowering crime rates while protecting the dogs against instances of abuse.
The vests will continue to undergo developing and testing before its ready to be introduced to communities for trial runs.
