These Smart Ties Make It Easier to Connect to the Internet Anywhere

If you're still scrambling to find the perfect Father's Day present, you may want to consider one of these stylish smart ties. Produced by the Ontario-based agency 'Grip Limited,' the 'TieFi' is a necktie that doubles as a mobile WiFi hotspot.
The TieFi works by connecting to your home network and then rerouting the wireless signal. The smart tie is able to emit a low-range WiFi signal, which can be used in the surrounding area of about 10 feet. The inside of the tie is powered by the Raspberry Pi 2 b+ and an external battery.
While smart ties may seem like an odd idea, they actually serve a very practical purpose. By turning fathers into the center of the modern home, busy dads are able to spend more time in the same room as their children without losing an Internet connection. The result is increased connectivity and more family time spent together.
