Bagel Labs created a smart measuring tape which is literally called "Bagel." The tape can be switched into three different modes of measurement -- String, Wheel or Remote. The first format uses a string which replaces the rigid ruler like strip used in most measuring tapes. The second mode uses a laser pointer and ultrasonic sensor. If neither of those work, the Bagel can also be wheeled over an object to obtain a measurement.
The smart measuring tape comes with many other features including an LCD screen, Bluetooth connectivity and a voice recorder for verbal measurements and notes. All the information stored on the tape can be delivered to your phone using the Bagel's own app.The device can be used for 8 hours consecutively and can be charged using any micro USB cable.
