This food tech startup offers smart kitchen appliances, including a cold pressed juice pack maker for tech-savvy health nuts. Led by Artis Ventures, Juicero recently raised $70 million in series B funding, indicating there is immense promise for the emerging new company and the products it offers.
Their smart kitchen appliances include a $699 counter-top gadget that cold presses juice out of prepped packs full of nutritious fruits and vegetables. The packs -- which are similar to coffee pods available from Keurig or Nespresso -- cost $4 to $10 each and are also available through a subscription model. Currently based solely in California, Juicero packs also have QR codes that enable the company to gather data and track how much juice is being made as well as what flavors are most popular.
