The Skyscraper Candles by Jing Jing Naihan Li Offer Waxy Skylines
Meghan Young — January 7, 2014 — Art & Design
The Skyscraper Candles immortalize some of the most recognizable structures in the world in wax. Of course, the word 'immortalize' is used quite loosely here considering that once in use, each Skyscraper Candle will be 'burned down' into an unrecognizable puddle. Yet until that day, they lend a worldly feel to living spaces.
Designed by Jing Jing Naihan Li, the Skyscraper Candles debuted during Beijing Design Week. Although pricey for a candle (ringing in at $39 each), the Skyscraper Candles could easily be used solely as a unique decorative touch in the home. It offers a great visual for guests, effectively showing just how small the world really is. Each one measures about 40cm in height.
