After years of development, Air New Zealand is gearing up to begin accepting bookings for Skynest, the world's first sleep pods in the sky. With a Skynest session, travelers ages 15 and older can leave their seat behind for four hours to enjoy a full-size pillow, crisp sheets and a blanket, plus more room to stretch out and rest with more privacy. In the spirit of helping travelers refresh, a complimentary Nestcessities amenity kit is also provided, and Air New Zealand includes comforts like an eye mask, earplugs, socks, hand cream, plus a toothbrush and toothpaste.
These lie-flat nests for Economy and Premium Economy passengers are set to go on sale May 18th, 2026, exclusively to select ultra-long-haul flights between New York and Auckland, for travel from November 2026.
