Ottawa's 'Sky Lounge' Celebrates Canada's 150th Anniversary

In 2017, Ottawa will toast Canada's 150th anniversary with a unique culinary event called 'Sky Lounge.' Modeled after a concept started in Belgium, the event will give dinners a new way to experience some of the city's best cuisine.

The Sky Lounge is a fine dining event that involves hoisting 22 guests 150 feet up in the air to enjoy a gourmet meal. The guests are elevated into the sky via a platform that is held up by a crane with steel cables. The guests are strapped into their seats while chefs and waiters serve them high-end dishes and specialty cocktails. Beyond the food, guests will also be treated to spectacular views of the nation's capital.

By literally elevating Ottawa's cuisine to new heights, the Sky Lounge gives Canadians a unique way to celebrate the country's 150th birthday.
