There are a wide variety of romance apps to best suit the needs of a young individual, however, one company noticed a gap in the market for sexual health apps, which could inform users of the varying factors involved in maintaining ones sexual health. Biem, is a "digital telehealth platform" which connects people to real healthcare professionals who provide insights and advice, while also carrying the authority to order tests, and share results.
The service provides users with the opportunity to discreetly discuss intimate issues surrounding sexual health. After answering a basic questionnaire about themselves, users have the option to schedule a live video chat with a real doctor, who, through the app, can order tests and screenings, and notify the users past sexual partners should they test positive for an STI. The app aims to make sexual health as easy as "swiping left or right" in attempt to remove the stigma surrounding STIs and other related issues.
