Sensory Running Workouts

Nike's Force of Nature Creates an Epic Experience Around the Treadmill

As though visualizing the 'runner's high,' Nike has created a sensory running experience that creates an epic spectacle for participants to immerse themselves in. Dubbed Force of Nature, the interactive installation was created to show how technologies may heighten the adventure of running. It uses Kinect interaction, a series of applications that incorporate gesture-based interactivity, to interpret the runner's movement as a breathtaking display on the screen placed directly in front of them.

A collaborative effort between Nike and creative studio FIELD, the sensory running installation is held at London’s Truman Brewery in time for the Nike Innovation Summit 2015. Psfk writes, "Force of Nature is the perfect example of how future technologies are being integrated into the exercise experience for a more sensory-enriched workout."
