Streaming services such as Netflix and Apple TV have made it more convenient to watch shows and movies in the comfort of one's own home and yet for many it is about much more than simple convenience. Parents, students and so many others might simply not have the time or money to head out to get the full theatre experience. That's where Screening Room comes into play.

Screen Room is a concept from Sean Parker and Prem Akkaraju that proposes streaming new movies right into the home for only $50, after installing the box at $150. Although Parker lays out a fairly reasonable plan at first glance, many are already poking significant holes into it. Yet it does touch on the fact that the cinema industry will continue to decline and other alternatives should be explored.
