Brazilian born artist, Simone Lourenco, is a whiz with sharp cutting implements as seen in her creations of the most intricate 3D paper sculptures. She uses multiple layers of different coloured paper with slashes and slits made into them to reveal the patterns of the colours beneath. Some layers are peeled back and further worked by curling and interweaving them to create truly original and organic pieces of art.
Simone also revels in paintings using markers. Her skill is so incredible, it's hard to guess they were done using such common colouring pens. She allows the bleed-marks on her drawing pad to dictate where she should progress with her new work. A refreshing artist to discover.
