The Ordinary's New Salicylic Acid Solution Decongests Pores with BHA

The Ordinary's popular Salicylic Acid Solution was discontinued and what is taking its place is a new Salicylic Acid 2% Anhydrous Solution that's squalane-based and water-free. Salicylic acid, a potent BHA, is effective for supporting the natural shedding of dead skin and The Ordinary created this new formula with "the intent of reducing concerns of skin irritation that can be associated with the use of [salicylic acid.]"

Squalane forms the base of the salicylic acid solution, along with other ingredients that are effective for keeping the pores free from feeling congested. Since squalane is highly moisturizing yet also non-comedogenic, it offers the same benefits of the previous exfoliating serum but in a way that reduces the risk of experiencing dry, flaky and irritated skin as a result of using chemical exfoliants.
