The art installation aptly titled Rubbertree by Marc ter Horst is made out of a bunch of car tires. The artist doesn't try to hide this fact at all. Instead of artistically rending the rubber material into a realistic depiction of a tree, ter Horst keeps each tire intact to show exactly where the material came from.
Rubbertree by Marc ter Horst was designed for the Make a Forest project, which "is a creative response to the need to preserve trees and change the way we think about dealing with our environment, locally and globally, in a sustainable and conscious way," according to the Type-B website. This eye-opening art installation debuted during the Dutch Design Week, Eindhoven.
