Everyone runs into seemingly intractable problems in their lives, be it the what to get on one's coffee break or what to do when a project deadline is fast approaching, and 'Rubber Ducky' is a silly but effective way to push past those issues. The Chrome extension uses a proven psychological quirk to help people reframe the problems in front of them.

Most people approach problem-solving in more or less the same way. They gather as much information as possible, try to work through it, and then ask a friend or colleague if they can't do it alone. Rubber Ducky tries to short circuit that last step. It's based on the rubber ducky technique, which posits that thoroughly explaining one's problem to an inanimate object will help people to think about the problem in a new light and find a potential solution.
