The Rogers Mother's Day deal for 2016 recognized the essential importance that the Canadian telecoms giant plays in the matronly celebration. Making a long-distance call to one's mother on Mother's Day is incredibly common -- especially in Canada, a country that is home to many emigres. As such, the Rogers Mother's Day deal offered every Rogers subscriber a free hour of long-distance calling to make it easier for them to talk to Mom on her day.
There were only a few restrictions on the Rogers Mother's Day campaign. Firstly, callers had to be in Canada in order to get the free call. Second, calls couldn't be made to satellite phones nor to a few select small areas, including the Falkland Islands, Niue, Tokelau and the Solomon Islands.
