A number of portable and modular homes have been designed over the years to appeal to modern day campers, and one such design is the POD house by Robust Outdoor Brands.
Robust Outdoor Brands (ROB), a design brand that focuses on creating sustainable products, was inspired by the huts found in Southern India, subsequently creating these unique portable houses out of durable wood. Each house, essentially a small domed tent, can house two people and can be quickly constructed and deconstructed. Further, each house includes beds that work double-duty as storage compartments and offers heating and electricity, as well as eco-friendly elements such as LED lighting and solar ventilation.
According to PSFK, so far three of the POD houses from Robust Outdoor Brands are being use to promote sustainable tourism in Switzerland.
