Jason Barnes has a robotic drumming arm because he unfortunately lost it in an accident while repairing a restaurant's vent hood. The musicians dreams were sadly ended up accident, or so he thought.
Jason was a fighter and he was not ready to give up just yet. He began by using a spring-loaded brace and also doubled as a drumming device on his arm. The musician later met with Gil Weinberg from the Georgia Institute of Technology to discuss building a device that would allow Jason to continue playing the drums at any level of difficulty. Weinberg is known for producing musical robots, primarily Haile.
Recently, Jason used his robotic drumming arm to play for the first time. It is pretty remarkable what these robotic drumming arms are capable of.
